How to get your business on Google Maps (and actually get calls)

Why Google Maps matters

When someone searches "web designer near me" or "mobile shop in NIT Faridabad", Google shows a map with three businesses before the normal results. Being one of those three is often worth more than any advert.

Set up your profile properly

Go to business.google.com and create or claim your business. Then fill in everything:

  • ✦Exact business name — no extra keywords stuffed in
  • ✦The right primary category, plus a few secondary ones
  • ✦Address or service area, phone number and website
  • ✦Opening hours, including special hours on holidays
  • ✦Services and products with short descriptions

Photos and reviews do the selling

Profiles with real photos of your shop, team and work get far more clicks than empty ones. Add new photos every month.

Reviews are the biggest trust signal. Ask every happy customer — a WhatsApp message with your review link after a sale works well — and reply to every review, good or bad.

Connect it to your website

Your website and your profile should show the same name, address and phone number. A website with your location, services and a map helps Google trust both — and gives customers somewhere to learn more before they call.
