10 signs your website is losing you customers

Why it matters

Most visitors decide in a few seconds whether to stay. A website rarely loses customers in one dramatic way — it loses them quietly, one small friction at a time. Here are the ten we see most often, and the fix for each.

1. It's slow on phones

Most of your visitors are on mobile data. If the page takes more than a few seconds to show, many leave before seeing anything. Fix: compress images, remove heavy plugins and use a modern, pre-rendered setup.

2. Your phone number and WhatsApp are hard to find

If someone has to hunt for how to contact you, they'll call a competitor. Fix: tap-to-call and WhatsApp buttons on every page, especially on mobile.

3. It doesn't say what you do in the first screen

A clever slogan isn't enough. Visitors need to know in one glance what you offer and where. Fix: a clear headline like "Bridal makeup studio in Faridabad", with your main services right below.

4. No prices or starting prices

People hate guessing. Even a "starting from" price filters out poor-fit enquiries and gives serious customers the confidence to contact you.

5. No reviews or proof

Trust is everything for local businesses. Fix: show your Google rating, a few real reviews and photos of real work — not stock images.

6. It looks broken on mobile

Tiny text, buttons too close together or content running off the screen all signal neglect. Fix: design mobile-first and test on real phones.

7. Long, complicated forms

Every extra field loses people. Fix: ask only for what you need to reply — name, phone and a short message — and offer WhatsApp as an alternative.

8. Out-of-date information

Old offers, wrong timings or a 2019 copyright line make visitors wonder if you're still open. Fix: a quick monthly check, or a simple editor so you can update it yourself.

9. Google can't find it

If you don't show up when people search for your service in your area, the site can't help you. Fix: proper titles and descriptions, a sitemap, Google Search Console and an up-to-date Google Business Profile.

10. No clear next step

Every page should end with one obvious action: call, WhatsApp, book or get a quote. Without it, interested visitors simply leave.

Where to start

Open your site on your phone and look at it as a customer would. Most businesses find two or three of these in five minutes — and fixing them often brings more enquiries without spending anything on ads.

(01)FAQ

Quick answers.

How do I check my website's speed?+

Run it through Google PageSpeed Insights on mobile. If the main content takes more than about 2.5 seconds to appear, it's worth fixing.

Should I redesign or fix my current site?+

If the problems are content and contact details, fixing is enough. If the site is slow, hard to update or looks dated on phones, a rebuild usually costs less in the long run.
